Waist-to-Hip Ratio Calculator
Calculate your waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) to assess your health risk based on body fat distribution. WHR is a better predictor of cardiovascular disease than BMI.
Measure at the narrowest point, usually at the navel
Measure at the widest point of your buttocks

About Waist-to-Hip Ratio
Apple vs Pear Shape
"Apple" shaped bodies (android fat distribution) carry more fat around the waist, increasing cardiovascular risk. "Pear" shaped bodies (gynoid distribution) carry fat around the hips and thighs, which is associated with lower health risks.
Why WHR matters more than BMI
BMI doesn't account for where fat is distributed. Visceral fat (around organs) is more dangerous than subcutaneous fat (under skin). WHR helps identify this pattern.
